Hi Giles, it does say bid game with 3 card support, any points, but nothing specifically about 14-15. I guess they want you to pass if no 3 card support.

Thanks Stanley
Yeah but then the notes and Powerpoint should say 0-15 points, Pass, any shape. The notes say 0-13 points. In fact it's very confused because the top line contradicts the third line GAME => 0+ points, 3-card support. The top line should say PASS => 0-13 points, less than 3-card support.
I'm just wondering if the right thing to do, and to tell my beginners, is to Raise with 14-15 points and 2-card support ? Borderline makeable, somewhat preemptive. This is consistent with the notes as regarding a weak-2 opening (except it's not invitational in Majors). It may also depend on having shortages ? But that's a bit sophisticated for beginners.

Hi,
The hand on slide 4 of the Powerpoint presentation for Beginners' Lesson 9 (pre-empts) appears to be the same as slide 5. In fact, the slide 5 hand has overlaid the slide 4 hand, which is hidden underneath. It should be removed to avoid confusion.

Hi,
Having read John Fergusson's comment about slide 4 of the Powerpoint Presentation for Lesson 9 I was disappointed to see that NZ Bridge has not done anything to remove or fix slide 4.
