Club Constitutional Changes

In order to comply with the requirements of the new 2022 Act we need to rethink rules and operations, which requires us to amend our constitutions.

NZ Bridge Board member, Anne Barrowclough, has taken the lead on understanding these changes. Anne hosted a Zoom call for clubs on the 22nd of August 2024. During this call, Anne covered what has changed and the implication on operations and governance within bridge clubs. She provided an action plan, and some tips and tricks to bring your constitution together.

Anne's key point is to start now and tackle it in small bursts. It's not difficult, but there is a process needing to be worked through. Appoint someone to lead the process with your committee and follow the wonderful step-by-step guide Anne has provided. The result is improved governance and clarity plus compliance with the expectations of the Act - supporting your operations today and for those who will take over in future.
