National Congress is almost here.

BP1

It Starts THIS Saturday

That’s our National Congress, live at Bay Park, Mt Maunganui. So good to have a live National Congress again after a gap of three years. Hopefully you have made your entries by now….it’s OK to enter any event except NZ Open and Restricted Open Pairs up to 24 hours in advance

BUT PLEASE REMEMBER

If you have entered only for Open Pairs and Open Teams (Swiss qualifying stage), please enter the events you will play later in the week IN ADVANCE…NOW. We will withdraw you from those events if you qualify for the later stages of NZ Teams  or of course if you just change your mind (and in the latter case will refund your payment). However, you MUST have entered the subsequent events no later than 24 hours in advance. We want you to avoid disappointment.

Closing time for entering NZ Open and Restricted Open Pairs is 6.00pm Wednesday September 28th.

Start time for both these events is 9.30am Saturday October 1st. Please be seated by 9.20 am at the latest. There is plenty of parking at Bay Park

and Food and Drinks

Lunches at Bay Park are cheaper and will be quicker to get if you pre-order and prepay. We have attempted to send the lunch choices (lunch box or BBQ style) to all players coming to the Congress. If you have not received this email and would like to receive it, please let me know and I will send.
Pre-ordering must be done by Friday September 30th to get the cheaper price. (no Big Macs, KFC or other bought food in Bay Park, please. Fine to bring in home made "sammies". )
Tea and coffee stations will be set up (note these are not free, barista style coffee) and there will be areas where you can get hot and cold water.
Oh, and perhaps you would like something stronger at the end of a session? There is a bar, too.

Money, money, money

Yes, we would prefer you pay for your entries in advance of playing. We will have credit card facilities at Bay Park but direct payment into the Congress bank account is preferable. NZ Bridge Congress account  02 0466 0268199 002  with your name as reference.

Daily Bulletins on-line
Whether you are at Bay Park or are watching from afar, look out for the daily on-line Congress Bulletins. The Editor is Ed Roggeveen and he will bring you the latest news each day, starting this Friday even before a card has been played!
We aim to have the Bulletins appear mid to late evening on both NZ Bridge website and NZ Bridge Facebook pages. Look at all the photos…even read the articles!
