The Gold Coast had to pay the venue A$180,000 this year (and A$30,000 last year when cancelled). Close to half the entrants cancelled this year. Ref page 10 of https://www.myabf.com.au/media/bulletins/2022/02/28/Bulletin_07_-_Fri_25_Feb_2022.pdf. The loss was at least A$70,000.
