NZB International Committee Membership
Over the last few years New Zealand Bridge has been fortunate to have the services of Derek Evennett, who has led the International Committee and has acted as a selector, non-playing captain and Chef De Mission. All delivered to the highest level.
More recently Derek accepted the role of chair of the New Zealand Bridge Foundation, the charitable arm of NZB.
A week or so ago Derek approached me expressing a view that the future stewardship of the International Committee should rest with a member of the Board.
Derek's suggestion is logical and fits within the governance obligations of the Board.
I am therefore delighted to announce with the full support of Derek that John Skipper will assume the role of chair of the International Committee. This appointment will take effect in January.
Derek will continue as a committee member, selector and Chef de Mission.
On behalf of the Board and New Zealand Bridge I wish to acknowledge Derek's dedication and service to the International Committee.
