THE LEGAL DRUG

Say “No” to Drugs”

Google quotes Pattaya as “a town on Thailand’s Eastern Gulf

Coast known for a wild nightlife scene that attracts international visitors, weekenders from Bangkok and expats.”

Not any more.

Englishmen, a Irishman and a man from NZ

Travelled to Thailand and shared the same bed.

Their accommodation was not a 5 star hotel

But in a cell-block in the local Pattaya jail.

You might just imagine why they’re doing time

As foreigners are told” stay away from crime”.

When you come to Bangkok, don’t be a mule

And if you swallow capsules, then you are just a fool.

A joint may be ignored if in some Northland town found

But will get you near life if Thai police are around.

So, were the Pom and the Irish and the Kiwi so rash

As to indulge in drug-running or smoking some hash?

Far worse..for in some Pattaya club did they stray

And with hundreds of playing cards they seemed to play.

And odd looking boards with 4 strange looking spaces

They just had to be gambling in the most public of places.

At least the Thai police did not take 20 years

To clear these pensioners of gambling or their drug taking fears.

Failing in a cold slam may involve a metaphoric loss of face

But not of one’s freedom in so hospitable a place.

The Kiwi, Irish and Pom can once more

Visit the Thai club they came all that way for.

And those ads promoting the virtues Thai’s are blest

Sun, smiles, women…maybe…but it’s bridge that’s the best.

Say “Yes” to Bridge
