Communications, Marketing, and Relationships

I am delighted to share with you the appointment of Mel Auld as our new Marketing and Communications resource.

Mel joins us with a quality resume and unwavering support from her prior employers.

I hope you will reach out and welcome her to the New Zealand Bridge family.

Rather than me write a bio I thought it was best for Mel to introduce herself.

Hi everyone,

I’m Mel and I’m always up for the opportunity to bring more joy into peoples’ lives! It’s great to be part of the NZ Bridge team and I’m really looking forward to meeting more passionate Bridge players as we figure out how to raise awareness, change perceptions and support the Clubs to get more people having more fun playing Bridge.

I have over 20 years of corporate experience spanning communications, marketing, brand development, team leadership, project management and new product development. I worked for Zespri for 12 years in executive roles and have spent the past 4½ years as a business consultant and supporting people as a life coach. I’m based in Tauranga and I’m an active volunteer for several non-profit organisations, a nature lover and Mother to three sons (one being our German homestay student).

I’m fresh to the game and hope that helps me to figure out how to market the game to those who don’t know it’s social, intellectual and enjoyment benefits. I’m learning lots and am keen to weave those new learnings, together with my experience, in a way that helps bring joy and engagement to new and existing Bridge players throughout Aotearoa.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like to share your perspective: mel.auld@nzbridge.co.nz

Warm regards, Mel.
